Flight One Engineering Avionics Department (formerly Quality Avionics) provides fixed and rotary wing avionics support in aircraft maintenance service and repairs, and both new and second hand product sales. Based at Archerfield airport for over 30 years, the team has relocated to expanded facilities at Hangar 6, Grenier Dr.

We are proud of the fact we maintain and support Airlines and clients in the Pacific Rim as well as the General Aviation sector.​ We believe in providing quality service representing excellent value for money and stand by the hard won reputation we have maintained since 1995.

Our experience allows us to be just as comfortable keeping older equipment serviceable as we are installing and maintaining the latest avionics and instrument systems, enabling us to always offer the most cost effective solution particular to each individual customer’s needs. With a particular talent for autopilot system fault diagnosis we can always help with rectifications of this infamously problematic system.

Aircraft Maintenance

All Instrument, Electrical and Radio category maintenance – scheduled and unscheduled. With years of experience and full Instrument, Electrical and Radio Category licence coverage, Flight One’s avionics team is well situated to carry out a broad range of fixed and rotary wing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs including experienced workshop staff and facilities. Most repairs can be carried out locally to keep turnaround times down.

ADS-b Compliance

All Australian registered IFR aircraft must be ADS-b compliant – having already upgraded many aircraft to comply with this standard we can advise the best way to achieve the desired result.

From a stand-alone solution or in conjunction with a larger upgrade we can help advise the best course of action. ADS-b Traffic IN is also a very viable option.

The heart of an avionics system the radio stack has the most options available, depending on requirements (And available space in the panel) the options can be daunting, but with experience in using as well as installing equipment we can make the decisions easier.

Glass Panel PFD

Upgrading an old school 6-pack to a glass panel PFD (Primary Flight Display) system can deliver safer flying, increased reliability and significantly reduced maintenance costs.

With terrain avoidance and optional features such a Synthetic vision, situational awareness has never been so high. These modern systems provide more flight information, and when coupled with GPS, data such as airborne wind speed and direction, are constantly available.

Autopilot

Autopilots reduce flight workloads more than any other avionics, but when they aren’t working 100% then they can be worse than nothing at all. Having confidence in an autopilot is everything. Talk to our team about keeping existing autopilots at their peak and the merit in an entirely new installation.

Even if your aircraft has never had an autopilot there is almost certainly an option for your airframe.
